DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon): Premium Friction Reduction

DLC coatings represent a newer, premium direction in clipper blade design. Instead of changing the base metal, DLC adds a carbon-based micro-thin coating that significantly reduces blade friction. Lower friction means less heat generation, smoother gliding, less wear, and extended blade lifespan. For barbers, this translates into longer cutting sessions with consistent sharpness and improved client comfort.

Blade temperature is an often overlooked factor that directly impacts the client experience. Stainless steel can become hot quickly under high load, titanium regulates heat better, and DLC minimizes frictional heat altogether.
